John Paul II in his document Redemptoris Missio calls for a ‘New Springtime for Evangelization’. He asks the Church to find new methods, new ardor, and new expressions to grow in and share the Gospel. In the 21st Century, the world has become vastly digital. Most of our daily functions happen at the end of our finger tips either on our phone, tablet, or computer. Therefore, the digital world has become the new frontier for the Church to share its missionary zeal. The question is: as a Church how do we embrace the challenges and opportunities of our digital world with new methods and ardor? 

Introducing: Hallow 

Hallow is a Catholic Prayer App that can be downloaded on any device. Its mission is to be a digital evangelist in our secular world. On the Hallow app, there are many prayer and formation opportunities made available right at your finger tips. As a Pastorate, we have decided to partner with Hallow. This will give us the opportunity to pray as a pastorate community, set prayer habits and goals, and have access to world class formation opportunities. All you have to do is start.

Areas to Use Hallow:

• Hallow can be used in the home with the family. There are many prayers that guide families on how to pray together. They offer options like making a rule for the family on times and prayers that will be offered. 
• Hallow can be used in the car on the way to school or work. Prayers like the morning offering or morning meditation can be great ways to pray with the kids during the most hectic times of the day. 
• Hallow can be used in the classroom. All of our Religious Education Catechists and School teachers will have access to using Hallow’s content in the classroom.
• Hallow also offers a safe and positive alternative to other forms of entertainment. On Hallow there are multiple formation opportunities that are engaging for the whole family to participate in together. 

Pastorate Goals For Using Hallow:

1. To become a Pastorate that is united in prayer. Through Hallow our whole community can come together and pray for each other, our parishes, and the Universal Church. As a Pastorate, Hallow allows us to set ‘prayer challenges’ which invites the whole Pastorate to be unified in praying together. 
2. To be a tool to help parents, grandparents, and children to learn how to pray and explore the beautiful mysteries of our Faith. 
3. To be a light in the darkness of our digital lives. Instead of doom scrolling or opening the next app to distract ourselves, Hallow becomes the thing that can fill the empty void. It has prayers, stories of the saints, audio books, music, catechetical lessons, and more. It can become a healthy substitute for our media intake.

Religious Education Families and Catechists

All religious education catechists in the All Saints Pastorate and all families with students in religious education will receive free premium accounts in Hallow.  Catechists and RE parents should have received an email from Hallow with a link to start your free subscription.  If you did not receive an email and you fit into one of these groups, please contact Evan at discipleship@stmbrookings.org to get added to our RE subscription group.

STMCS School Families

All students at STMCS will be set up with free student accounts on Hallow using their student email addresses that parents are able to use as well.  For more information please contact your student's teacher.

All Other Pastorate Members

The Hallow app is available to download for free.  After downloading, click on the "Community" tab and search for All Saints Pastorate to join our Pastorate’s community page. The community page allows you to connect with other members of the parish, ask for prayer requests, share prayers with each other, and more. On the free app you can also participate in our pastorate-wide prayer challenges that will happen periodically throughout the year. Finally, the free version of the app will allow you to access some of the content on Hallow, but not all of it.

1. Go to Hallow.com/parish on a web browser. 

2. Find our pastorate by name or zip code (All Saints Pastorate or 57006).

3. Join our community page 

4. Sign in or create an account (remember this information for later!) 

5. Redeem the current pastorate subscription offer. Use GrowthSub25 

6. Download the Hallow app on your phone. 

7. Login in using the information from step #4. 

8. Go to the community (church) tab at the bottom right of your screen. 

9. You should be connected to your parish page! 

10. Start praying!
